Jun 10, 2012 The game is uninstalled. Reinstall in by inserting the disk and dragging the The Sims 2 File from the window to your Harddrive, and there you have it, the game has entirely reset itself. I just tried to play the sims 4, but my sims keep resetting? I can't get any actions done or even queued up because the game keeps resetting them. Just remove all the contents from the Sims 2 folder in your Documents. The game will reset itself and all the neighbourhoods should come back.
Dissatisfied with Sims 4 and hoping for a better Sims 5

@kremesch73 So delete the sims 2 folder in ea games folder and play the sims 2 and it resets and puts it back into the right place? And will I have to get my cc again? Thanks

@kremesch73 I don't have enough storage in my recycling bin the move it there, is that a problem? Should I permanently delete it?

If you have windows 8 I can probably help.(also if you got the free ultimate collection from origin)
This PC(might be 'my computer') - Local disk (C) - program files(x86) - origin games - the sims 2 ulitmate collection - apartment life
then
TS data - res - user data - neighborhoods - copy E001 folder
then paste this in the sims 2 neighborhood folder in your documents section
documents - EA games - Neighborhoods
In here you should see a few numbered folders if all the hoods are installed, there will also be a NeighborhoodManager package file.
N001 = Pleasantview(base game path)
N002 = Strangetown(base game path)
N003 = Veronaville(base game path)
G001 = Riverblossom Hill(Seasons path)
F001 = Desiderata Valley(Free Time path)
E001 = Belladonna Cove(Apartment Life path)
N004 and up should be custom neighborhoods if you have any so just delete them all together if you have issues.
(the path is the folders you go through to find the right town to copy.)
When you have the copy of the town you need and place it in documents, since the new game saves go here of course, delete the folder of the town you no longer want. The copy replaces this, if you did it right it will remake everything when you open the town in game (the loading screen will tell you it's loading weather, pets..etc) and the town will be nice and fresh so you have to connect it to the sub neighborhoods again. However if something else is wrong with your game that is not fixed with this un-install the whole thing and start fresh.

that is odd sorry it didn't help, try right clicking on TS2 in the Origin menu and repairing the game, or uninstall and reinstall if you can

I moved my sims folder to the desktop and when I opened the game it replaced all the files. Not sure if that's something that normally happens but if there's not enough room to move it to the recycle bin or the tips RedDestiny gave don't help, it's worth a try.
if you move the files out and restart the game that is what is supposed to happen, that's just how I reset my hoods I found the steps on the ts2 wikia, if you don't follow them exactly they won't work. unless the entire game is corrupted then you'll need to uninstall and reinstall, also you should probably clear out your recycle bin if it's full lol.

You removed it from your Computer files by copying it from the Documents to your Game files on your Computer?
Did you check your Recycle Bin for the deleted files? Change them back out..
Do you have the UC or on Disk? If it's not there you can use Origin to Fix your game and it should put it back..

2. Delete the rest of the The Sims 4 folder from your Documents > Electronic Arts folder.
3. Start the game, exit the game, and put your moved items back.

Try coming completely out of the game then starting the game again and see if that helps.
Remove any mods/cc that you have and see if that helps.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, right click on the sims 4 picture in Origin and click repair.
Have you tested to see if it happens with other households in the game?, Does it happen when you start a new save game file?

Hey Rosemow,
I tried each step and still having the issue. I checked a different household and still experiencing the issue. I tried checking another save I have and did not have the issue so it seems to be related to my current save.
My frustrations have reached a new high. This is the second save I am probably going to lose. The first save I cannot save anymore without it crashing to desktop. Now my sims are constantly resetting. I think I am just done with this game. I am having a hard time even thinking about starting another new save only to lose it again 3 generations down the line.

Sometimes having a large amount of items in the sims inventories and household inventory can cause issues. Perhaps remove some of the items from the inventories and see if that helps.
Is the save file ' bloated' ? Sometimes large files can cause issues.
Is there particular items that they are interacting with when they are being reset? If there is, sell the items and buy new ones and see if that helps.
Or are there particular activities that they are doing, or at particular venues?
If yiu continue to have issues, it might be good to save your sims household and their home to your library, then start a new save game file and place them into it.

The digital and the cd versions are the same.
Do you still have your save game files in your saves folder? If you do, the autosave file may be causing issues. Go to your save folder in Documents -Electronic Arts-Sims 4 folder and move the slot_00000001.save file. to your desktop. That is the autosave file and could be causing issues. Then launch the game. Go to the load button ( the one with the floppy disk image) in the main screen in the game, load one of your game files, play the game and see if it is working okay.
If the load button isn't there, start a new game. Play for a little while, then save the game. Come completely out of the game. Go back into the game, press the load button, and see if your other save games are then there.

Sadly, nothing worked for me. I kept the saves that were having issues and after a few patches I was able to play the save again. I was so happy. Even if you have to start over, keep the saves just in case they fix themselves.

It is good that you were able to go back later and play the save games that were originally causing issues. The patches would have helped to fix what the original cause of the issue. It is great advice to keep the saves.

What makes me concern about it is if they make the requirements to become a star as easy as the 2 skill levels needed to join a club in GT. I wish I can change how much skilled a Sim can either become a star or join a club.

There has been update versions of both the MC Command Center mod and the additional section released . Try removing the old versions and downloading the new versions and see if that helps the issues,
If the issues remain after doing that, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and test to see if that helps the issues. I am sorry that you are having this issue .
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there. If it has helped with the issues, put your mods/ CC back into the newly generated mods folder that is in the sims 4 folder one by one or in batches and testing after each one to see which is the causes of the problem.

Does not help. I know because I already tried that, and my sims are still resetting from time to time in my game.

Well in this last instance, which happened in my game just tonight. One of my vampires was tending to the plants in their garden. They would tend to one plant, and just 🌺🌺🌺🌺 a bit and then just stand there and wait for me to give them a command. While there's a plant right next to them that needs tending to. Now I know that when you command a sim to tend to the plants in their garden, they will do just that until they are either told to stop or until there's no plant left that needs tending to. But not this time my sim that I was playing tonight, she just did one plant in her garden. And she has a big garden. She reset after just tending to one plant, and stood there waiting for me to tell her what to do next.
