The game's frantic action takes place in maze-like, static levels, where a single player dodges enemies while running and climbing to reach and claim stacks of gold. Lode Runner Web Game (free online game), a html remake of Lode runner (超級運動員 淘金者) This is a HTML5 remake of Lode Runner, building the program with CREATE JS.

Lode Runner Game

The Bungeling Empire has stolen a huge cache of gold from its rightful owners, and your mission is to infiltrate its treasury and recapture it. This entails progressing through 150 screens of platforms, ladders and ropes.
The Empire has sent robotic guards down to protect the gold, and contact with any of these will cost you a life. Your method of escaping them is to press fire to dig a hole in their line of movement, thus causing them to fall in briefly, allowing you to move across the gap safely. Once all the gold has been collected, a ladder allowing you to move onto the next screen is added. Completing these screens often requires forward planning and precision.
This was one of the earliest games to include a level editor, allowing the creation of new level designs with no programming skill.

Lode Runner: The Legend Returns - Play Online

DOS - 1994

For small DOS games like Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, you can play online immediately with your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer..). This feature is still experimental, the game may not work properly. Warning: game save should work, but you should try it early! Also, be careful to select the right game executable in the list below.

Emulator configuration

You have to choose the right game executable, then press PLAY.

To exit fullscreen mode, press escape. Playing experience can be poor due to your browser or your computer. Download Lode Runner: The Legend Returns and launch it with DOSBox to have the best playing experience!

If the game is too fast or too slow, try hitting CTRL-F11 (slower) and CTRL-F12 (faster).

To save your game press Ctrl S, to load a saved game press Ctrl O.
Pressing F1 in game brings up a help screen with other keys (e.g. skipping levels).

Good question - I'm hoping for the same answer. Is there a way to save your spot without jumping ahead? If I remember correctly when I played this before, there is a short funny video clip every 15 levels to introduce a new weapon/device, but if you skip levels those movies are deactivated, so need a way to save the game on harder levels without starting over each time I turn it on.

On a Macbook early 2008, running Chrome, works just fine although the audio is a bit chopped - hey, it's an old Apple.
Yeah, needs to reconfigure the controls as Apple decided long ago it was a good idea to not have Home/End/PgUp/PgDown/Insert/Del keys...

Click the check mark on the right of the screen and you can change your control buttons. For instance this was written when for a full size keyboard and the down button is the 5. But you can configure it to use the AWSD keys instead where S is the down button. I suggest changing all of them so you can properly use your accessories as well. Good Running!

Like someone else said, the down key doesnt work, which makes level 2 unable to be passed. I miss this game. Can't play the downloaded version either.

It works better if you go to preferences ( the check icon' in the right side) and put your own buttoms :)
I used ZXCV to actions and arrows to move me. hope u can enjoy it, blesss

It plays on Chrome 65.0.x but I don't have a number pad on my laptop. Up/Left/Right arrows work as expected. Right zapper is PgUp, Left zapper is Home. But, I haven't found a down key which makes level 2 impossible.
